A lovely little dish wood turned from a piece of Sapele Mahogany. Sapele is a sustainable African wood. While turning Sapele, one may notice a wonderful cedar-like scent. A nice jewelry dish, key dish, candy dish, or simply a side table dish to store things. It measures approximately 4 inches across and 2 inches high.
The wood colors range from a golden yellow to a dark red-brown which often darken with age.
Due to it’s deep, rich, red-brown color, Sapele is Mahogany-like in color, but it is not part of the Mahogany species.
It is however often used in place of Mahogany due to it’s outstanding grain patterns and beautiful rich colors.
