A friend had this tree in her yard. Her kids had grown up playing on it, so when it needed to be removed, I made special piece for her.

As I shaped the outside, it was clear that it would not stay together for hollowing.

Cherry hollow form decorative woodturning.

I made cuts with a router and added some hardwood pieces (Ipe) and continued on.

This may be my best work so far.
