This is a simple pen made from olive wood. Because I’m new to woodturning, I am starting with easy woodturning projects. Turning pens seems to be some of the simplest forms of woodturning and great for a novice like myself.
This olive wood pen is a great example of how even new wood turners can produce beautiful projects.
For this pen turning project, I used a CA finish as recommended by many professional pen turners. After turning the pen on the lathe, I sanded from 120 grit to 12,000 grit. Then I applied several coats of CA as the finish and using micro mesh to create a smooth glassy and durable appeal.
Overall, I’m quite happy with how this olive pen turned out.
