This is a a special piece of wood. It is not often I have the privilege of working with such a beautiful gift from a tree.
Sapele is a cousin of Mahogany and exhibits some similar visual properties, but often has more variable grain.
Ribbon figuring is more rare and highly desired as it reflects, and refracts light in a way that is much like Tiger Eye – a semi precious stone.
