This is a silver maple and oak segmented vase. The silver maple was actually an urban tree in my home town that was cut down a few years ago and my father cut it on the sawmill. The oak was from one of my local building supplies stores.
This case consists of 144 segments, twelve 12 piece rings 6 oak, and 6 maple.
The vase was done in two halves with the inside turned only for both then glued together and turned outside.
Finishes are tung oil and Minwax paste finishing.
